Richard Buckby recently caught up with Assistant Manager, Anwar Uddin.

Anwar, this is the first time we have spoken since you joined the club. For those people who are not familiar with you, what footballing background do you have?

I have had a 15 year playing career having started at West Ham United and moving onto Sheffield Wednesday, Bristol Rovers, Dagenham & Redbridge, Barnet and finishing in non-league with Sutton & Eastbourne Borough.

I am now working towards my A- licence coaching badge and I have coached at West Ham United's Academy, I was also the Assistant Manager at Barnet in League 2 for short period.

You have played a lot of football over the years at various levels. Have you 'hung your boots up' yet or are you still looking to get back on the pitch?

Never, say never! I have not played a competitive match for nearly 2 seasons, having stopped through persistent injury but I would never rule it out.

My full time job involves a lot of travelling, so coaching and management is now my priority away from my day job.

How would you rate the sides’ progression since you have been involved with the club?

We have had to do a lot of work that goes unnoticed at times, in order to create a professional environment and one where players can improve and enjoy their football. That does not happen overnight and there have been plenty of hiccups along the way but I feel we are creating a foundation that will have long term benefits.

We have signed quite a few players since yours and Alan's arrival. How do you think they have settled in?

The players that we have brought in have had a positive impact on the team and have contributed to all the points we have amassed over the last 3 months.

They have also been responsible for the good vibe that we now have in the dressing room, so I am happy.

We have had a few injuries and suspensions recently, when are the guys likely to return?

I am hoping to see Gavin Greenfield and Brad Hunter back involved within the next couple of weeks with a bit of luck and Alberto Pinto will be back from his ban after our next fixture at Wroxham.

We are over half way through the season, what your objectives for the rest of the season?

I would like us to finish with as many points as possible.

Next up, we have Wroxham. What are your hopes for the match?

I know Wroxham are currently in the top 5, but I still think that we can win the game.

Out of the games you have been involved in, who is the best team in the division, in your opinion?

I can only judge by the teams we have played against. For me, Ware were the most impressive team that we have come up against.

Finally, who do you think will get promoted from the division this season?

I think that Harlow and Needham Market will be the two teams that get promoted this season.
