Jammers Earn Hitchin Win
Wayne Brown's Maldon & Tiptree side ran out 2-0 winners in their latest friendly, away to Hitchin Town.
It was a positive result for the Jammers against a side a level above them in the pyramid as things start to take shape ahead of the new season.
After a strong start to the game, the Jammers took the lead on the 15 minute mark, when Shane Cojocarel finished sharply.
Hitchin recovered well from the setback, but some resolute defending from Brown's men ensured that the advantage was retained going into the break.
More home pressure was repelled after the interval and, having scored fifteen minutes from the start, a second goal was then scored fifteen minutes from full time.
A free kick was swung in from the left and Seth Owens got the slightest of touches to make it 2-0.
A positive result, then, with the season drawing closer!
