Midfield maestro, Darren McQueen (pictured) has recently caught up with Richard Buckby.

I think the team has tried to put the defeat behind us and just focus on the next game and try to rectify the problems from the Hullbridge game in order to take 3 points against Romford.

Darren, you have made a flying start to the season scoring five goals...how do you feel you've started to the season?
I feel I've started very positively, I've settled into the team well and the style of football that we play suits my ability and allows me to express myself.

A few people have not heard of you before you signed for The Jammers, what can you tell me about your footballing history?
I was at Tottenham from the age of 10 to 18, I then signed a 1 year professional contract at Ipswich Town last season.

What have you found most difficult so far this season?
Probably the fact that the majority of teams like to play long ball so for periods of the game I will either be inactive or having to defend quite a lot which I feel I am improving at.

Obviously, the defeat against Hullbridge Sports was a massive setback, what do you think went wrong in the game and how do you expect the team to bounce back?
I think we dominated the game first half but we weren't clinical enough in the final 3rd and 2 sloppy mistakes cost us...I think in the end they had more desire to win the game. I think the team has tried to put the defeat behind us and just focus on the next game and try to rectify the problems from the Hullbridge game in order to take 3 points against Romford.

I know that you're currently injured, with an ankle problem. When do you anticipate being back to full fitness?
I have a bit of a knock on my ankle and hopefully it should only be a couple of weeks.

On a personal level, what is your long-term goal and what do you want to achieve in football?
My long term goal is to play in the highest league possible and unlock my full potential.

Lastly, do you think The Jammers have what it takes to get promoted this season?
Definitely; we have more than enough ability and desire. I think we just need to come together as a team a bit better which needs to happen quickly if we wanted to progress into the Ryman Premier.
