U's Defeat Jammers In Friendly Opener

Our EFL League Two opponents brought a strong squad down to Park Drive, with their whole senior squad making the short trip.

On a hot and sunny day, the visitors were on the attack from the off and found themselves three goals to the good through Luke Prosser, Sammie Szmodics and Aaron Collins.

But the best goal of the half came from a Maldon man, as Sam Warde bent home a fantastic free kick to reduce the deficit.

The second half saw the two teams name completely new elevens, and whilst the U's saw much of the ball, the Jammers back line defended well.

A further goal from Mikael Mandron restored the three goal lead and it was to finish 4-1.
