Leading goalscorer, Liam Nash has spoken to the club's media team ahead of Saturday's match against Bowers & Pitsea...

People say your to old to make it to the top or your times running out, but I think they are wrong, I am going to do everything I can to make the best me that I can be, I am going to push myself to get as high as I can but most importantly I need to be pa

Q1: Liam. It's been a rollercoaster ride since you joined the club from Great Wakering. How's life been since you joined The Jammers?

A1: Life has been great, I never quite expected to settle in as much as I have and as quickly as I did with the boys. I knew I was coming into a well run club with high ambitions which was one of the reason I joined. I have had a bit of a rocky last couple of seasons and I feel very comfortable within the camp at Park Drive, I think that I am currently at the peak of my game.

Q2: Your time has been full of good times, is there any moment that in particular is the best?

A2: To be honest your correct...but it has to be scoring five goals in one game, for me personally it was a great achievement and to break the club record and be the first to do so is one for the grandchildren.

Q3: You are currently the leading goal scorer at the club and the league's leading goal scorer. What does that mean to you?

A3: It is a great feeling but I wouldn't be able to do it without the team around me - they deserve most of the praise. They are the ones who provide me with the ball and to be honest, the rest is history. But no, it is a great feeling and me and my old man set some personal targets, for the season and each game and I amm working hard on and of the field to for-fill them.

Q4: You have just turned twenty-one. What is your main goal in terms of football?

A4: People say your to old to make it to the top or your times running out, but I think they are wrong, I am going to do everything I can to make the best me that I can be, I am going to push myself to get as high as I can but most importantly I need to be patient. Football can be a very frustrating game, if you let it be, I am keeping my head on my shoulders, whilst working extra hard of the pitch and I am continuing to give my all on a Saturday for my team. Hard work does not go unnoticed and hopefully my hard work will come off soon.

Q5: When you signed for the club, what attracted you most to Park Drive?

A5: The ambition the club had in wanting to push out the league was a big attraction and the link we have with Colchester is another pathway that could open up for myself. I also knew a couple lads prior to joining, who said it would be a perfect move for myself, it took a lot of grovelling from Mark and Adam to get me to sign but I am happy they managed to get me over and complete the move to Maldon.

Q6: On Saturday, we welcome Bowers & Pitsea who we have already beaten this season, thanks to a goal from yourself. What are you expecting from them on Saturday, as they look to secure a play-off position?

A6: Bowers & Pisea have always been a strong side, even when they played in the Essex Senior League. Like it has shown already in this league, it is who about who shows up on the day, we have stick to what we have been doing and take the Manager’s instructions onto the pitch. We respect every side that comes to us and we take nothing away from Bowers, they are a good side as their league positions shows and they can cause any team in this league serious problems.

Q7: We are currently top of the league table, how would you describe the mood in the dressing room at the moment?

A7: The mood is fantastic, but its not all easy as it seems. The managing staff and players are all working extra hard on and of the training ground to make sure we turn up 100% every Saturday. We will continue to embrace it and take the confidence onto the pitch on a Saturday.

Q8: If you was to sum up the season so far in three words - what would they be?

A8: Up The Jammers!
